Capturly captures studio-quality audio and video on each person’s own device, then hands you the original files.

What is Capturly?

Recording happens locally, not over the internet, so a weak connection costs a laggy preview and never the take. That works two ways: record a session yourself with guests who join from a browser, or send a link and collect recordings from people who never install anything or create an account.

Podcasting is what Capturly is best known for. The same capture pipeline collects customer stories, research interviews and async hiring answers.

How It Works

  1. Choose where to record - Desktop app, browser, or phone
  2. Select your devices - Microphone and camera
  3. Record solo or with guests - Everyone captures locally at full quality
  4. Collect and edit - Guest tracks upload to you automatically; sync with the beep

Recording Modes

Solo

Record by yourself. On desktop and mobile this works completely offline, so it suits solo episodes, voice-overs, and locations with unreliable internet.

Sessions with remote guests

Record with remote guests over peer-to-peer connections. Each participant records locally at full quality while you see and hear each other in real time. Session size depends on your plan — up to 4 participants on Pro, up to 8 on Team. See Online Mode.

Studios

Team workspaces get a persistent room with a stable, bookmark-able URL and a green room for approving guests — built for recurring shows. See Studios.

Output Files

A desktop recording session produces two files:
