Getting Started with Capturly

This guide helps you make your first recording in a few minutes.

Fastest start: the browser

You don’t need to install anything. Open capturly.app , grant camera and microphone access, and record — the browser captures locally, just like the desktop app. See Recording in your browser.

Install the desktop app when you want the separate 96 kHz / 24-bit WAV master or fully offline recording with no browser tab.

Quick Start

Download and install Capturly, or open the web app
Grant microphone and camera permissions when prompted
Select your recording devices
Choose a save location (desktop only)
Click Start Recording

System Requirements

Before installing, make sure your system meets the minimum requirements:

macOS

macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
Apple Silicon or Intel processor
4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
500 MB disk space for installation

Windows

Windows 10 (version 1903) or later
64-bit processor
4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
500 MB disk space for installation

Browser

Chrome, Edge, or Safari 16.4+ (Firefox is not supported)

What You’ll Need

A microphone (built-in, USB, or audio interface)
A camera (optional, for video recording)
Enough disk space for your recordings — roughly 3.6 GB per hour at 1080p, or 18 GB per hour at 4K, plus about 1 GB per hour for the 96 kHz WAV master
