Capturly has four plans: a free Starter tier, two subscriptions, and a one-time Lifetime purchase.

Plans Overview

Prices are in USD. Team is per seat with a 2-seat minimum.

Free trial

Pro and Team include a 14-day free trial:

• No card required
• One trial per customer
• Available only when you subscribe on capturly.app 

Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play do not include a trial — those start billing immediately.

Starter

Free, no account limits on devices. Good for solo podcasters, testing Capturly, and occasional recording.

Includes

• Solo recording, offline on desktop and mobile
• 1080p HD video
• 48 kHz audio
• MP4 and WAV exports
• Recordings auto-organized by date
• 5 GB cloud transfer per 30 days

Limitations

• No remote guests
• No cloud backup — local recordings only
• A Capturly watermark on video exports

For independent podcasters who record with guests.

The watermark

Starter-plan video carries a small Capturly logo in the bottom-right corner, baked into the frames at capture time. Every paid plan removes it.

In a multi-participant session the host’s plan governs every participant’s watermark, because guest tracks are the host’s work product. A Starter guest recording into a Pro host’s session produces an unwatermarked track.

Purchasing

On the web

1. Visit capturly.app 
2. Go to Pricing and pick a plan and billing interval
3. Complete checkout with Stripe
4. Your plan activates on your account immediately

Payment methods: credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), plus additional regional methods where Stripe supports them.

In the mobile apps

Plans can also be bought through the App Store or Google Play. Purchases apply to your Capturly account, so a plan bought on mobile unlocks the web and desktop apps too — and vice versa.

Two differences apply to store purchases:

• No free trial — billing starts immediately
• Team ships as a fixed 2-seat bundle, because the stores can’t sell per-seat quantities. Add more seats on capturly.app.

Manage or cancel a store subscription through the App Store or Play Store, not through Capturly.

Licenses and devices

Activating

Sign in to your Capturly account in the app. That’s the whole process — your plan follows your account to every device you sign in on, across desktop, web, and mobile. There’s no key to type in and no separate activation step.

License key format

Your account also has a license key, shown in Account > Licenses on the web:

CAP-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-C

Three groups of five characters plus a check character. It’s a human-readable handle for support and record-keeping — the app doesn’t ask you to enter it.

Device limits

Each device you sign in on takes an activation slot.

Team members each get their own allowance — a 4-seat workspace isn’t sharing one pool of activations.

Managing activations

1. Log in at capturly.app 
2. Go to Account > Licenses
3. Review your activated devices
4. Remove any you no longer use, then sign in on the new one

The desktop app links straight to this page from its account panel.

If a device silently drops to Starter features after signing in, you’ve most likely hit the device limit — remove an old device and sign in again.

Account Management

Creating an account

1. Visit capturly.app/register 
2. Sign up with email and password, or with Google or Apple
3. Verify your email address

Managing your subscription

1. Log in at capturly.app 
2. Go to Account > Subscription
3. View billing history, update payment method, change seats, or cancel

Canceling

Cancel from Account > Subscription. Access continues until the end of the billing period. Purchases made in a mobile store are cancelled through that store instead.

Upgrades and Downgrades

Starter to a paid plan

Subscribe or buy Lifetime; features unlock immediately on every device signed in to your account.

Pro to Team

Change plan from Account > Subscription and choose your seat count.

Pro or Team to Lifetime

Purchase Lifetime, then cancel the subscription — it runs to the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

If a plan lapses

• Access continues to the end of the billing period
• After that you revert to Starter capabilities
• Local recordings are never touched
• Recordings already in your cloud library remain until their normal 30-day expiry

FAQ

Can I use one license on multiple computers?

Yes, within the device limits above. Deactivate and reactivate as needed.

What happens to my recordings if my subscription lapses?

Local files are unaffected — they’re on your computer. Cloud library copies keep their normal 30-day expiry. You just can’t create new recordings at paid-tier quality.

Can I share my license with others?

No. Licenses are for individual use. For a crew, buy Team seats — that’s what they’re for.

Do guests need a plan?

No. Guests join sessions with no account, no plan, and no download.
